Frank R. Sauer, 80, of Horicon passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Frank was born the son of Edward and Rose (Ritger) Sauer on November 16, 1938 in Rubicon, WI. He was married to Deborah Riese on October 18, 1975 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon. Frank served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed in maintenance with both St. Stephen Lutheran Church and school and Van Brunt Elementary School in Horicon. Frank was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon. He was a member of the Horicon American Legion Post #157. Frank enjoyed welding for many years. He had a true love for camping. Frank loved his family dearly and the time he spent with them especially with his granddaughters. Frank is survived by his wife, Deborah of Horicon; his daughters: Jessie (Bob) Biermann and Becky Sauer both of Horicon; his granddaughters: Taylor and Chloe; his sisters: Marion Lemke of West Bend, Helen (Jim) Charlton of West Bend, and Rosemary (Ray) Zimdars of Newburg, WI; and further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers: Roman, Edmund, and a brother in infancy. A visitation will be held at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the church. Rev. Jonathan Szczesny will officiate. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon with military honors conducted by the Horicon American Legion.
