Frederick W. Quandt, age 74, passed away peacefully in Madison, Wisconsin on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Fred was born on July 24, 1951 to Frederick and Verena (Kirchoff) Quandt in Hartford, Wisconsin. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
On August 1, 1998, Fred married, Margaret “Maggie” Benter. Their union was a beautiful testament to love, partnership, and devotion. Fred was a caretaker at heart, always ensuring that those around him felt valued and appreciated. He had a remarkable ability to brighten someone’s day, often sending flowers to those he held dear in his life, spreading joy wherever he went.
Fred’s professional journey was marked by dedication and hard work. He began his career at Hooper Cooperation in Madison, where he worked diligently, climbing the ranks to become a general foreman before retiring in 2017. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in all he did, inspiring many of his colleagues and friends.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Fred had a passion for woodworking. He was known for his skillful hands and creative mind, taking great pleasure in helping family and friends with various woodworking projects. He also found joy in fixing things around the house, tackling any challenge that came his way. When he wasn’t working with wood, Fred enjoyed shopping and tending to his yard, finding peace and satisfaction in nature’s beauty. Though Fred has left this world, his spirit continues to live on in the countless lives he enriched. His belief in the power of paying it forward and caring for others has left a permanent mark on his family and community.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Maggie; children, Lisa Benter of Beaver Dam, Roger Benter of Beloit, Jason (Trina) Benter of Janesville, Katrisa Sanneh of Beaver Dam, and Lisa (Chris) Lange of Florida; many special grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Barbara (James) Wittnebel of Hustisford; other relatives and friends.
In keeping with Fred’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
