Gerald “Pee Wee” A. Hartwig, age 80, of Horicon, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Funeral Services for Jerry will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon with Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. Visitation for Jerry will be held at church on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. Following the service, military honors will be conducted by the Horicon American Legion Post #157.
Jerry was born on December 15, 1944, to Louis and Victoria (nee Redlin) Hartwig. He was a graduate of Horicon High School. Jerry was united in marriage to Gail M. Johns at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon in 1969.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for many years at John Deere in Horicon. Jerry was a faithful member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon. His faith was important to him, and he knew the promise of eternal life that was waiting for him.
Jerry was a proud Wisconsinite and was fond of watching the various sports teams. He looked forward to being outdoors hunting and fishing. In his earlier years, he enjoyed golf and bowling. Shaking dice was a favorite pastime of Jerry’s.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Nicole Freeman (Nathan Stephens); grandchildren: Cody Freeman and Amber Freeman (Jacob Kirchner); great-grandchildren: Sella Kirchner and Braxton Wollum; siblings: Luise (Jerry) Rosenthal, Sandra (Ken) Feucht, and Oscar (Gale) Hartwig. Jerry is further survived by nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters -in- law, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Gail in 2018.
