Gerald S. Gunderson

December 28, 1941 - December 24, 2006

Gerald “Gunner” Gunderson, age 64, of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at his home.

Visitation for Gerald “Gunner” Gunderson will be on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:00 PM at the Murray Funeral Home. Donna Berry will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.

Gerald Roy Gunderson was born on December 28, 1941, in Boaz, Wisconsin, the son of Roy and Dorothy (Herlitz) Gunderson. On December 10, 1993, he was united in marriage to Dorothy “Babe” Anderson in Juneau. Gunner worked at John Deere Horicon Works for 35 years retiring in 1998. He enjoyed many sports such as hunting, wrestling and especially softball, where he excelled at shortstop. His leisure time was spent playing cards and going to his weekend getaway with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Babe” Gunderson of Beaver Dam; his five children, Kelly (Tracy) Gunderson and grandson, Drew Gunderson of Poynette, Kevin (Barb) Gunderson and grandson, Christopher Gunderson of Oklahoma City, OK, Kerri (Bruce) Olson and grandchildren Tyler, Zachary and Chelsea Olson of Westby, WI, Kurt Gunderson of Washington, DC, and Clint Gunderson of Sparta; his brother, Richard (Sugar) Gunderson of Muscoda; his sister, Elizabeth “Liz” (Harley) Smith of Richland Center, nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Gerald Gunderson”s name to the Beaver Dam Community Hospital Hospice.
