Gerald “Jerry” Walter Musack, age 88, of Theresa, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
A Funeral Service for Jerry will take place on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Theresa with Rev. Hugo A. Ugalde Bemer officiating. A visitation for Jerry will be held at church on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. The service will be livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. Following the service, graveside military honors will be conducted by the Theresa American Legion Post # 270 at Union Cemetery in Theresa.
Jerry was born on February 1, 1938, to William and Selma (Krueger) Musack in Theresa. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Seaman (E-3). On January 17, 1956, Jerry reported to Great Lakes Naval Training Center for boot camp. After completing boot camp, he was assigned to Schools Command at Treasure Island, California, where he worked in the carpenter shop supporting damage control for 18 months. His next assignment was aboard the USS Bexar (APA-237), stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. While serving on the USS Bexar, the ship conducted combat maneuvers near Mount Fuji and also visited ports in Kobe and Nara, Japan. After completing his duty aboard the USS Bexar, Jerry flew from Tokyo, Japan to San Francisco, California and was honorably discharged from active duty on October 31, 1957. He was placed in the inactive reserve with an obligation through Jan 16, 1962.
Jerry was an active and present member of the community. He served on the Theresa Village Board, was a member of the Theresa Fire Department, a Lions Club Charter member, and founding member of both the Theresa Pioneer Snowmobile Club and Theresa Firefighter Water Barrel Games. Throughout his 20s and 30s, Jerry was an avid softball player, and played catcher on various teams, most notably for DJ’s Tavern. He also cooked rotisserie chicken at the Theresa Picnic and the Lions Tractor Pull over the years. In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed polka music, fishing, and was a devoted fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson, Robert Pribnow, race in the IRA 410 Outlaw Winged Sprint Car Series.
Jerry was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Theresa. He worked for many years as an engineer in research and development at Broan-Nutone, later working as an Application Engineer Consultant at Steel Craft.
Jerry is survived by his children: Mark Musack of Theresa, Julie Musack- Voss of Fond du Lac, Vicky (Vincent) Bartoli of Burnett, and Mitchell (Margaret) Musack of Oshkosh; his grandchildren: Richard (Jessica) Pribnow, Robert (Jennifer) Pribnow, Rebecca (Erik) Haefs, Felicia Bartoli, Capri Bartoli, Anthony ( Yiqing) Lenski, and Brandon Musack; his great-grandchildren: Gracyn, Hudson, Jayden, Sydney, Avery, Riley, Aeryona, Asher, and Clyde; his sisters: Virginia Wendorf and Jeanine Streblow; and sister-in-law: Margaret Brunner. Jerry is further survived and dearly missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty in 2024; his daughter Tracy Musack; and brothers: Allen, Donald, William, Clarion, and Lloyd. Memorials for Jerry may be directed to St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Theresa.
