Gregory B. Johnson

Gregory B. Johnson, age 64, of Hartford, Wisconsin formerly of Ishpeming, Michigan passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.Memorial Services will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming, Michigan on Sunday, August 20 at 4 p.m. with the Rev. James Larsen officiating. A visitation will take place on Sunday August 20 from 2-4pm at the church with a luncheon to follow the service at the fellowship hall.Greg was born the son of Glenn and Martha (Anderson) Johnson on July 31, 1953 in Marquette, Michigan. He was united in marriage to Scarlett Neva on April, 26, 1980 in Champion, Michigan. Greg worked for the Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company for 32 years, retiring at the age of 50. He thoroughly enjoyed life on the Dead River Basin. He spent his time fishing, sailing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and especially liked visiting with his good friends at the “Dog House”. Greg was a devoted grandfather to his many grandchildren. He enjoyed attending their sporting events, and spending time with them on the Basin. He was a true animal lover being committed to many cherished pets to include, Pepper, Bucky, Shelby and Miss Peepers. Greg is survived by his wife Scarlett of Hartford (Ishpeming); his sons Kelvin Pepin of Iron River, MI, Vincent (Sherri) Pepin of Hartford, WI, and Bradley Pepin (Becky) of Gwinn, MI; his grandchildren Hilary, Nan, Jenny, Krista, Jacob, Nicholas, A.J., Matthew, Luke, and Rachel; his brother Glenn Johnson of Waterford, WI. Greg is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Barbara Alquist, and brothers David and Peter Johnson.
