Visitation: Tuesday, March 1st from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home

Hattie M. Naffin, 93, a resident of Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam and formerly of the Charleston House and 708 Fairfield Dr. in Beaver Dam passed away with her sons by her side on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Hillside Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Mark Jensen officiating. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, March 1st from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the township of Trenton, WI.

Hattie Marie was born the daughter of Herman and Louisa (Schwantes) Pautsch on July 3, 1917 in the township of Chester, Dodge County, WI. She was married to Melvin Naffin on September 21, 1940 in Burnett, WI. Hattie was employed during WWII at Malleable Iron Range Co. (Monarch) in Beaver Dam while being a devoted wife and mother.

Hattie was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was a member of the Beaver Dam American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 146. Hattie was an avid bowler and participated in singles leagues and mixed couples leagues in Beaver Dam for many years. She especially enjoyed caring for her family and her home.

Hattie is survived by her two sons: Landon (Lisa) Naffin of Germantown and Randy Naffin of Chicago; her sister, Elgardie Zurheidie of Watertown; her sister-in-law, Marie Pautsch of Fox Lake, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin in 1996, her son Stevan in 2009, six brothers and four sisters.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Hattie was a wonderful neighbor. She always had a chocolate chip cookie ready for the boys. We really missed her when she moved to the Charleston House. She had lots of good stories to tell. We are very thankfull for the piano she gave us. Our youngest son is still taking lessons and practicing on it. God bless.

My deepest sympathy. Melvin and Hattie were such good friends of my parents, Ray and Verna Falkinham. I got to see them often. I knew Stevan as we both were growing up, but don't remember you younger sibblings. I was also saddened to see Stevan has passed. I know you have many wonderful membories of all of them.
