Helen I. Bauer, age 87, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, March 26, 2026, at SSM St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with her family by her side.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Helen will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy with Rev. Fr. Mark Brandl presiding. A visitation for Helen will be held at church on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, inurnment will take place at St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
Helen was born on June 6, 1938, in Oakfield to Leo and Agnes (Dohrman) Ruhland. On October 10, 1956, she was united in marriage to Felix R. Bauer in Oakfield. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Helen is survived by her six children: Sheryl Bodden of West Bend, Jeffrey (Judy) Bauer of Lomira, Dean (Lori) Bauer of Brownsville, Linda (Roger) Thimm of Hartford, Chris (Pam) Bauer of Brownsville, and Julie (Pete) Priesgen of Fond du Lac; grandchildren: Nicole (Tim) Zimmerman, Joshua (Valerie) Bodden, Lucas (Alexis) Bauer, Hattie (fiancé Sage) Bauer, Dana Thimm, Kevin (Kori) Thimm, Allen Thimm, Jaxson Bauer, Shaun (Jenny) Priesgen, and Jaymee (Andy) Feucht; and 13 great-grandchildren. Helen is further survived by step-grandchildren, step great- grandchildren, and other dear relatives, and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Felix; great-grandson, Jacob Zimmerman; and her brother Leo (Judy) Ruhland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.
