Helen Rose Gloudemans

June 14, 1931 - April 8, 2007

Helen Rose Gloudemans (nee Drexler) died peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. She fought to stay with us until Easter Sunday so she could share the resurrection with the Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard, her five children; Charles, Tom, Joe (Millie), Lisa (John) Williams and Chris (Bill) Berger, ten special grandchildren, one great grandchild, a sister Flora (Melvin) Ayers and many, many friends.

Helen was born on June 14, 1931, the daughter of Michael and Meri Drexler. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1948 and was a life-long active member of St. Peter”s Catholic Church, now known as St. Katharine Drexel Parish. Helen was the President of the Christian Mothers” Society and a long-time choir member. She was involved with the Beaver Dam Community Theatre and was a former Welcome Wagon Hostess in Waupun, where she founded the Newcomer”s Club. Most recently, she was employed at Earthshine Candles.

A memorial service will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 South Spring Street, on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Hillside Hospice, 707 South University Avenue, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin 53916 or to the Life Legacy Foundation, 6825 East Outlook Drive, Tucson, Arizona 85706.
