Ida H. Unertl

Ida Unertl was received by the Lord on July 1, 2019 at 96 years old at The Matthews of Horicon surrounded by her loving family.Ida Helen Mayer was born on April 24, 1923 in Rozellville, WI the daughter of Martin and Anne Katherine (Strauss) Mayer the 6th child of 10 and grew up in Millador, WI. She was united in marriage to George Unertl on May 8, 1940 in Vesper, WI. With her husband George the family farmed in Dodge County on Wildcat Road and Hochheim Road. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa and a member of the Mayville Senior Center. She was a leader of 4H participating in the Dodge County Fair. Ida was also a member of the Dodge Co. Farm Bureau, Dodge Farm Bureau Woman of the Year 1983.In her earlier years, Ida enjoyed raising chicks and selling eggs to local stores, gardening, picking strawberries, and playing cards. In her later years, she enjoyed going to the casino and traveling. Ida loved spending time with her family.Ida is survived by her children; Robert (Susie) Unertl of Columbus, Carolyn (Curtis) Mueller of Hustisford, Jerri Frank of Hartford, Joan (Gary) Boser of Allegany, New York, Dan (Marion) Unertl of Hartford, Steve (Donna) Unertl of Theresa, Stan (Monica) Unertl of Theresa, Ginny (Ralph) McMullen Jr. of Horicon, Cliff (Debbie) Unertl of Fond du lac, Scott (Julie) Unertl of Greenwood, WI; daughters-in-law Michelle Seerling and Barb Lischka; her sister Irene Haumschild; 28 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, husband George in 1980, sons David, Russell and Randy, granddaughter Lauren Unertl, three brothers, five sisters.A visitation for Ida will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00 p.m. at church with Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. Burial will follow at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Theresa Memorials may be directed to St. Theresa Catholic Church, the American Heart Association, and the American Cancer SocietyA special thank you to Agnesian Hospice, especially Larry Roxbury, who helped us through Mom’s journey and also to the Matthews of Horicon where Mom was for the last five years.
