
















































James ‘Jim’ A. Bertel, age 83, of Mayville passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Juneau.A memorial service will take place at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville on Saturday, September 2 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Allen J. Kramp officiating. A visitation will take place on Saturday, September 2 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Private family inurnment will take place at St. John Cemetery in Mayville.Jim was born the son of Albert and Laura (Ubel) Bertel on May 20, 1934 in Juneau. He was united in marriage to Patty Margelofsky on April 28, 1962 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. He was retired from Gleason Reel after working as a drill press operator from 1965 until 1996. Jim was an active member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church serving as a past elder for more than 20 years and also an usher for 40 plus years. In his spare time Jim enjoyed being out in nature while gardening, farming, and fishing. He also liked to travel. Most important to Jim was the time spent with his family.Jim is survived by his wife- Patty of Mayville. His sons- Todd Bertel of Mayville, Troy (Carla) Bertel of Loveland, CO., Trevor (Anjel) Bertel of Mayville. His grandchildren- Brennen and Natasha Bertel of Mayville. His daughter in law- Nicole Sheahan of Nelson. His sister- Jeanne Uecker of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Laura, his son Tyler, sisters Loretta Colbach, Beverly Wilson, and Rose Marie Marble.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church Blacktop Fund or the charity of one’s choice.
