James C. Golisch

James Clarence Golisch, age 76, of Westfield, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will take place on Saturday June 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church located at W5940 Chestnut St, Packwaukee, Wisconsin with Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. A visitation for Jim will be held at church on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow at Thal Acres Links and Lanes located at N6109 County Road M in Westfield, Wisconsin.

Jim was born on December 4, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan to Clarence and Catherine (nee Gray) Golisch. He was united in marriage to Carol Schmidt on October 15, 1967. Together they had two children, Doug and Cari.

Jim was a devout Christian and a family man. Those who knew him best know he was a kind, quiet man with a big heart. When he spoke, people listened. His willingness to help showed as a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Westfield and Town of Newton. Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in many church events.

Jim was a collector of cars, tractors, and model trains. He was fascinated with 3-year wonders: Ford Skyliner 57-59, Edsel 58-60, and the Vixen Motor Home 86-88.
Jim loved to read and follow the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, taking in the quietness of nature. He often watched the birds and deer in his backyard.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol; his children: Douglas (Shalane) Golisch and Cari Polodna; his six grandchildren: Trevion, Brianna, Abigail, Alivia, Peter, and Jaden. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, his GE “family”, and dear friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law Stacy Polodna; his brothers John and David Golisch; and his sisters Catherine Sternitzky, Ruth Bugge, and Mary Hughes.
