James S. Lee

James S. Lee of Columbus passed away on December 8th, 2016, at the age of 76. Jim is survived by his loving wife Diana, children: Tom (Mary) Lee of Sun Prairie, daughter-in-law, Carrie Lee of Fall River, Sherri (Greg Van Deventer) Rucker of Edgerton, Nichole (fiancé Jeremy Bailles) Higgins of Pardeeville, Tanya Higgins of Milwaukee, Calvin Higgins of Columbus, Dana Higgins of Texas, and Chelsea (Matt) Huebner of Columbus. Jim is also survived by his sister, Janet (Tom) Block of Lancaster, brothers-in-law: Steven (Connie) Martinson of Randolph, John Martinson of Rio, Chris (Sara) Martinson of Deforest, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvel and Margaret (Bell) Lee, his brother, Charles, his son Doug, his father and mother-in-law, Lester and Darlene Martinson, and his sister-n-law Cynthia Ebert. Jim was born on February 9th, 1940 and lived in Columbus his entire life. He had worked many years as an independent truck driver. He also owned and operated the Westside Inn before it became Club 60. Jim was well known for helping his family and friends with just about anything. He enjoyed working on cars, going to auctions, and spending time with loved ones. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.A memorial gathering will take place at the Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016 from 10:00a.m. until noon with the memorial service to follow.Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.The family would like to thank UW Hospital physicians and nursing staff for the wonderful care provided to Jim during his final days.
