Janet A. Breitweiser, age 78, of Beaver Dam, peacefully departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 28, 2025, just four months after receiving a cancer diagnosis. Her spirit, however, will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
A visitation will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Will Arnold officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Peter Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Janet Agnes was born on December 2, 1946, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to Allen and Lidwina “Bena” (Huss) Buske. She was a beacon of light in her community. She dedicated her professional life to serving as an office manager at an accounting firm in Madison, where her organizational skills and warm demeanor made a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. Jan was a devoted member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, where she actively participated in the Christian Women Group. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her in her many acts of kindness and service. Always willing to lend a helping hand, she touched the lives of many with her generosity and compassion. Janet cherished her time spent playing Scrabble with her dear friend Betsy, where laughter and friendly competition filled the air. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel to beautiful destinations, including Germany, Hawaii, Mexico, and all of the trips up north where she created cherished memories with family and friends. Jan was also a passionate volunteer for the Dodge County Special Olympics, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to supporting others. She was on the board of Arc of Dodge County for many, many years. Her creative talents shone through in her sewing projects, as she lovingly crafted quilts, baby blankets, and Christmas stockings, each piece a testament to her nurturing heart. Above all, Janet was the sweetest, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She instilled in them the values of love, kindness, and the importance of family, leaving a legacy that will be cherished for generations to come.
Janet is survived by her companion, Jack Ramey; children, Tom (Antonia) Breitweiser of Brooklyn and Shari (Michael) Krzykowski of McFarland; grandchildren, Sage, Kadie, and Reed Krzykowski; great grandchildren, Aaron and Paislee; sisters, Kate Beers and Sandra (Terry, Sr.) Ferstl; and an aunt, Jean Schweisthal; sister-in-law, Ann Mallon; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roy Buske; great grandson, Kayden; and brothers-in-law, Pat Mallon, John Beers, Paul Breitweiser and Jim Steger.

I will always cherish my time with Jan. I met her in the '80's while being an Avon representative, and our great friendship grew with those late-night scrabble games. Jan had a great positive attitude and would often shine a light upon me to think of situations differently. She would show her kindness, encouragement and love to everyone surrounding her life. My deepest condolences to Jan’s family and Jack. Jan was a Zoom pen pal as she called Helen and me starting after we met during participation in a Landmark seminar. We talked in a group every week at first and upon completion of the seminar, it was just natural and important to continue. It is truly a gift when you have friends like Jan. She was compassionate, thoughtful, sincere and simply one of the most loving and generous women I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I would like to thank the family for sharing her with Helen and me. Tom mentioned how she would watch the time during family outings to make sure she was on schedule for our calls! She was a very dear friend.
