Joan M. Karow

Joan M. Karow, 73, of Fall River passed away on Tuesday, January 02, 2018 at “At Home Again” Assisted Living in Columbus with her family by her side.Joan was born the daughter of Alfred and Verna (Peters) Geiger, Sr. on January 22, 1944 in Columbus. She was a graduate of Columbus High School. Joan was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Columbus. Joan loved to take care of the hummingbirds. Her family, friends and neighbors were very important to her, and her grandchildren were her life. Joan will be remembered for her sweet tooth as well as her attitude and spunk. Joan is survived by her children: Sheila (Patrick) Harmes of Beaver Dam, Pauline (Daniel) Burke of Beaver Dam, and Scott Karow of Fall River; her siblings: Alfred (Ruth) Geiger, Jr. of Columbus, Generose (Kurth) Kast of Randolph, Beatrice (Donald) Dunning of Columbus, and James (Linda) Geiger of Windsor; seven grandchildren: Michael Crook, Susie Crook, Matthew Crook, Marisa Burke, Dalton Burke, Kimmi (Joey) Eimiller, and Megan Karow; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Ralph; and her siblings: Savilla Retzlaff, Arlene Heller, Roger Geiger, Rosemary Tjugum, and Vernon Geiger.A visitation for Joan will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Columbus from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. (noon). Rev. Garrett Kau will officiate. Joan’s family would like to thank Hillside Hospice of Beaver Dam and “At Home Again” Assisted Living in Columbus for all their care and support.
