John J. Statz, age 54 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee

There will be a memorial gathering at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 10:00 am. to 12:20 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Wednesday beginning at 12:30 p.m. Fr. Will Arnold will officiate.

John Joseph Statz was born on August 10, 1969, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to James and Abby (Enright) Statz. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1987. After attending college, John pursued a career as a PGA Golf Professional. He began his career at Marsh Creek Country Club in St. Augustine, FL. It was there in St. Augustine that he married his high school sweetheart, Lisa M. Adamczak, on June 2, 1990. John later returned to work at courses in the Midwest. He was the first Golf Pro at Washington County Golf Course and worked there for 17 years. In 2015, he opened Statz Ale House & Grill and operated it until early 2023 when he suffered an aneurysm. John was a fighter and was determined to return home with his sons. He was almost to that point, but recently suffered a setback that ended his journey.

John is survived by his two sons, Ian Statz and Owen Statz of Beaver Dam; his grandson, Mateo Trujillo and Mateo’s father Andres; his mother, Abby Statz of Beaver Dam; four siblings, Elizabeth (Peter) Buss of Madison, Rebecca (Yamil) Arbaje of Verona, James (M. Bridget) Statz of Middleton, and Paul (Diane) Statz of Beaver Dam; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pierre “Pete” and Helen Adamczak of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his wife; and his daughter, Alexandria “Allie” Statz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family and will be used for the needs of John’s sons. There is a Venmo account set up for this purpose: @Abigail-Statz( last 4 of her phone number is 2317).
