Paul Kurutz left a message on October 22, 2019:

Dear John and Barb,

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Lots of good memories came from across the lot. From childhood to adulthood lots of memories. Getting pushed down the hill on the toboggin, the tree house, getting in trouble for bombing cars with snowballs from behind the chimney, fifth of July fireworks in the lot, learning how to wash a car at the Texaco station, Sportcraft and the unforgettable MF Ski Wiz, visits to Auburn, to impromptu parties in the kitchen and later the Shed, and who could forget his Energizer Bunny costume. Always a smile and a funny joke or story.

John Youngbeck was always ready to tell a joke. He had a great sense of humor. I met him at the Horicon Marsh Education Center when he started volunteering there and he met my friend Betty Beall.
