John Scot Haase, 64, of Beaver Dam, passed away on May 13, 2024 at home after a chronic illness. He was born in 1959, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Elliott “Moose” and JoAnn Haase, Sr. His educational journey included St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church of Beaver Dam for primary school where he was also baptized and confirmed in his faith, moving on to the Beaver Dam High School, and following up at Madison Area Technical College. After a full work career, John retired from Mechanical Systems INC in 2023.
Known to his loved ones as “Fuzz,” he was described as funny, having a tremendous laugh, kind, generous, full of playful banter, and patriotic. John had a passion for family history and family reunions. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, proudly showing his flags and memorabilia. There would not be a time when a game of pool or cribbage could be heard echoing down the basement stairs.
John never met a stranger and is survived by his sister, Debbie Backhaus; brother, Elliot “Tom” (Connie Beese) Haase, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Josh (Ashlee) Heimerl, Dana Marra, Sarah (Eric) Berglund, Vaughn (Brittany Linzmeyer) Haase, Ashley (Justin) Mellgren, Kassie Haase, and Chelsie Haase; many great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, De De Haase (Pahl-Sharpe); and grandparents, amongst other family members.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 29th at Thirsty Beaver located at 500 Madison Street in Beaver Dam. The party will start at 2pm.
May Fuzz’s memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
