John Wesley Raffensperger Jr., age 66, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
A Memorial Service for John will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaver Dam with Rev. Erik Taylor officiating. A visitation for John will be held at church on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
John was born the son of John Sr. and Gloria (Joers) Raffensperger on December 16, 1958. He was united in marriage to Lana Rodefer on June 29, 1979, in Waukesha County. John worked for many years at Apache in Beaver Dam as an IT manager.
John’s passion in life was robotics. He was the robotics coach for Columbia County 4H and built his own robots as well. In his early years, John was the bowling coach for the young travelling team in Beaver Dam.
John was a quiet man who enjoyed sitting back and taking in life. He loved to travel the country with his wife and his dog companion Pumba.
John will be deeply missed by his wife Lana; sister Rose (Mike) Holland; brother James (Susan) Raffensperger; brothers-in-law Dennis (Susan) Rodefer and Duwayne Rodefer; sisters-in-law Hollie (John) Narnis, Carla Schrum, and Jo Ann (Randy) Blake; uncle Skip (Julie) Joers; aunts Cindy Joers (Ron Masters) and Marlene Reupert. John is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law Carl and Nola Rodefer; and brothers-in-law Glen Rodefer, Michael Rodefer, and Mark Rodefer.
