John W. Wallace Jr

John W. Wallace, Jr., age 90, died Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

Visitation for John will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m to 12:50 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev, Chris Davis officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

John was born on January 3, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa to John and Ethel Wallace. He moved to Wisconsin and graduated from Waterloo High School in Wisconsin. John proudly served in the United States Air Force. On February 9, 1957, he was united in marriage with Cathy Peck.

When he was younger, John worked at a local car dealership as a parts manager. He then went on to have a long career at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department. John had many roles during his career including being a lieutenant of the patrol officers and then a lieutenant of the jail. John was also a paid-on-call firefighter for the Beaver Dam Fire Department.

He was an avid coin collector and gun collector. He enjoyed camping and loved to take trips by car, and typically took the road less traveled rather than the highways. He enjoyed trips on his Gold Wing motorcycle and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders. John was a great neighbor and often mowed everyone’s grass and shoveled their snow.

Survivors include his son, William J. Wallace of Horicon; a daughter-in-law, Liz Wallace of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren, Cyndi (Jake) Bantz of Hedehusene, Denmark, William J. Wallace, Jr. of Fox Lake, and David and Andrew Wallace of Beaver Dam; a sister, Susan Dollard of Madison; other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a son, John “Jay” Wallace.
