Joseph “Joe” Held

Joseph “Joe” Held, 66, of Waupun, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac after his courageous battle with cancer. A gathering will take place on Wednesday, August 7th from 4 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life at 7 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Joe was born the son of Walter Sr. and Louise (Kreuser) Held on April 23, 1953 in Hartford, Wisconsin. He loved his career of being a truck driver. Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was going golfing, camping, hunting or fishing. Joe’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, and he loved his daughters and friends very much. He leaves behind his daughters; Lisa (Todd) Gerondale of Fort Atkinson, Kimberly (Jimmy) Buelow-Fay of Ripon and Mary Swiertz, his grandchildren; Nicholas, Nathan, Jack, Ariana, Jameson, Kash, Enzlie, Annabelle, Elden, Kelven; brothers and sisters; Walter Jr. (Joanie) Held, Carol Whipple, Arlene Braun, Shirley (Wayne) Wellhoefer, Jerry (Bonnie) Held, Kenneth Held, Sharon (Gabe) Dragel, Donna Strehmel, and Mary (Brian) Hagen. Joe is further survived by other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Louise Held, his sister; Joanne Steger, brothers-in-law; Eugene Steger, Robert Whipple and Everett Strehmel, niece; Brenda Schley and his nephew; Brian Hagen Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Joe’s name to the Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope (400 Cty Rd K, Fond du Lac WI 54937).
