April 19, 1961 - April 8, 2016

Julie Ann Nehls, 54 years old, of Juneau, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at U.W. Hospital & Clinic of Madison. A private family service was held on April 10th with Pastor Paul Schupmann saying a prayer. Also previous prayers were said by Pastor Paul Hirsch. Julie was born on April 19, 1961 to Wayne and Jean (Grulke) Nehls in Hustisford. She was a 1979 graduate of Dodgeland High School, Juneau. She was employed as a CNA at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau and Golden Living Nursing Home, Beaver Dam. Julie enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking, and being outdoors. Julie is survived by her daughter Cassandra (Darrell) Mentch of Ixonia; her parents Wayne and Jean Nehls of Juneau; her sisters Renee Tank of Tucson, AZ and Sally (Robert) Mueller of Juneau; her grandchildren Hunter, Maximus, Henry, and Lilyana Mentch; her nephew’s Riley and Kyle Mueller of Juneau, her niece Jennifer (Joseph) Coombs and her great nephew Kaiden Coombs, all of Juneau; her former husband and longtime friend Travis Thorp of Horicon; Travis’s daughters Cecily (Ryan) Viedma of Watertown, Megan Thorp of Horicon, and Tiffany Thorp of Mayville; further survived by other relatives and friends. Julie is preceded in death by her sister Lisa Kolb and her brother-in-law Jonathan Tank.
