Kathleen F. Albrecht, age 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.A private family funeral service for Kathleen will take place on Saturday, May 15 at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with Pastor Isaac Fleming officiating. A public visitation will be held on Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. until noon at the Koepsell Funeral Home. Interment will take place at St. John Cemetery (Browns Corner) in Horicon.Kathleen Faye was born the daughter of Helmuth and Elena (Walters) Qualmann on September 15, 1950 in Beaver Dam. She was baptized December 30, 1950 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Browns Corner) in rural Horicon. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Madison in 1964. She was a 1968 graduate of Marshall High School. Kathleen was united in marriage to Larry Albrecht on July 9, 1967 and later divorced. Kathleen worked for the State of Wisconsin in various capacities. She was receptionist in the Governor’s office for Gov. Tommy Thompson and then retired as a program assistant in Health & Social Services in 2017.In her spare time Kathleen enjoyed spending time with her family and making crafts and greeting cards. She also loved to travel and took numerous trips to Europe to visit relatives in France. One of the trips she took with her brother, Gene was to see the invasion site at Normandy Beach where her dad landed and fought in WWII. Kathleen was an active member of Living Waters Church in Sun Prairie. She loved Jesus and even took online correspondence courses with a Hebrew instructor from Israel, so she could learn the Hebrew language in order to better understand the Bible.Kathleen is survived by her grandchildren- Dakota and Kaiya Albrecht. Her brothers- Wayne (Crystal) Qualmann and Gene (Susan) Qualmann. Her sister in law Toni Qualmann. Former daughter in law-Tammy (George) Abdon. Former Sister in law- Virginia Qualmann. Nieces: Amy (Brian Daly) Qualmann; Carrie (Eric) Pettey; Shonda (Dwayne) Nedd; Nephews: Justin Qualmann; Jeremy Qualmann and many cousins and other relatives and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry Albrecht, son Laurence, infant sister Laurie Qualmann, and brother Robert Qualmann.Memorials may be directed to Living Waters Church in Sun Prairie. I'm devastated.
Kathy is one of a kind. I've met so many people and personalities in this world. I've never met someone with so much patience, love, peace, understanding, and so committed to our savior Lord Jesus. Kathy has done so much for so many and God was always her ultimate message. Kathy was the family! She will always be with us.
She took my boys in with open arms and treated them like they were hers. We would ride our bikes over there to fish and she would always make sure we ate and go out of her way and change her day for us. I miss that already. We love you Kathy, we miss you. You will always be in our minds and hearts.

Will see you in Heaven Kathy - you were such a beautiful person inside and out and I am so thankful that we got to know one another riding the van to and from work at DHS...I'm saddened that I missed your visitation I didn't know that you passed until yesterday...but as I said we will be together in Heaven and I will again see your beautiful smile. Thank you Kathy for the privilege of having you as a friend. I recall those early days at Living Water church when we all gathered together to enjoy the visitations of Holy Spirit. What a special time of joy and healing for each one of us. You have been a blessing to us and I�m so glad to know you are home now, and at peace Praise be to our Lord and Savior! Amen

I knew Kathy from working at the Department of Health Services. She had such an upbeat personality and we could talk about anything. Sincerest condolences to the family. She is smiling down on you all!

The news of Kathy's death came as a shock. Although I hadn't seen her since her retirement from state service, I remember her as a vibrantly happy person. She was ever a pleasant sight at 1 W. Wilson St where I first met he as a secretary in the Secretary's Office. She later moved to the Bureau of Fiscal Services to become the Administrative Assistant to the Bureau Director. Everyone in BFS admired Kathy. Rest in Peace Kathy and may Light Perpetual Shine on you.

My condolences to all of Kathy's family and close friends. I worked in the fiscal services area from 1992 to 2011 when I retired. Kathy was an awesome Administrative Assistant to the Bureau Chief. She always seemed calm and discreet. Anything confidential was safe with Kathy. I'm sorry to hear she had been sick. God has her now where there is no pain, no heart ache, no illness, just love. Peace and Kathy's love be with all of you.

I always enjoyed talking with Kathy. She was always there to help when you needed something. I worked with her at DHS for many years. She has left us too soon. My prayers are with Kathy and her family as she is laid to rest.

Kathy was such a warm, caring person. I worked with Kathy at DHS in the Bureau of Fiscal Services from 2010-2015. She was so very organized and always ready to help with patience and a smile (and a prayer if you needed it!). I'm so glad I got a chance to know such a sweet person like Kathy. Sending prayers of peace to your families.

Rest in peace Kathy! Happy you are no longer in pain, and can join loved ones in heaven! We all will miss you!

I know Kathy through Shonda and I immediately loved her and she let me call her Aunt Kathy also and even though I only talked to her for a short time the first time we met it felt like we had known each other forever. She was such a warm and caring person. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
