Kay M. Wolfgang, 60, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
A memorial gathering for Kay will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1310 N. Center St, Beaver Dam. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Reichert officiating. Inurnment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Kay was born on June 2, 1964 the daughter of John “Jack” D. and Shirley A. (Lockwood) Wolfgang in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She was a 1983 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and became a licensed cosmetologist.
Throughout the years, she had worked at Regis Hair Salon in Beaver Dam, JC Penney and Escapade Salon in Madison. Kay was loved by all of her coworkers and clients. She had been doing nails for well over 35 years and has been with Escapade Salon since they opened in 2013. Her passion for nails and her clients was unmatched. She brought the nail services to award winning heights.
Kay was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Kay will be remembered for her creativity and warm heart. She was a lifelong lover of crafting and could often be found attending flea markets and craft fairs. Her projects showcased her incredible talent and dedication. She also had a green thumb and took immense pride in her flower beds. Her home was surrounded in flowers and was a testament to her nurturing spirit and love for nature. She was also passionate about baseball and enjoyed celebrating her last birthday with her Escapade Salon family; an outing that will be treasured in their hearts forever.
Kay will be deeply missed by her sisters: Kim Steinberg (fiancé Al Posthuma) and Karen Wolfgang both of Beaver Dam; nieces: Holly (David) Koronkiewicz, Alicia Steinberg and Marissa Steinberg; nephew Collin Koronkiewicz; aunts: Jean Honadel and Judy (Ron) Kielty. She is further survived by beloved coworkers, cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Wesley Steinberg, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

I met Kay when I was 18, she started doing my nails. Soon we became friends. Got Kay to start doing my mom’s nails they became good friends. Kay got to know my kids & hubby well. She was a huge support system for me and a dear friend. After doing my nails for over 20 years I moved away. We always stayed in contact and when I would visit I always stopped to see Kay. Her smile and laugh was bigger than life. I will never forget her and all the memories we shared. Momma and I love you Kay Marie. Thank you for all the wonderful years. You will be dearly missed. God took you for a reason that’s the only way I can understand this. My heart goes out to her family and her amazing sisters. She loved you more than life. Rest easy my dear friend.
