Kevin “Duster” Kuyper, age 68, of Mayville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at ProHealth AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.
A celebration of life to honor Duster’s life will take place at a later time.
Duster was born on June 29, 1957, in Mitchell, South Dakota to Lloyd and Leona (Vandenhock) Kuyper. He attended elementary school in Aurora Center and later went on to graduate from Stickney High School in 1975.
Duster worked on the Alaska Pipeline where he learned how to weld stainless steel and aluminum. He then returned to South Dakota and worked for Trail King. Duster moved to Wisconsin and worked as a mechanical maintenance engineer and machinist for several companies including Seneca and Packer-Cudahy.
Duster married his wife Patty on March 30th, 2012.
Duster and Patty enjoyed riding his Harley together. They also made many trips back home to South Dakota to visit with his sisters. They looked forward to driving up to Two Rivers to Susie Q Fish Market to enjoy some fresh salmon. Duster was an excellent cook and loved making his spicy chili and stuffed green peppers for his family and friends. (And no, you can’t have the recipe for the chili).
Duster is survived by his wife Patty; their children: Kristen Kuyper, Darryl Kuyper, Kyle (Marissa) Kuyper, Katrina Kuyper, Heather (Ben) Youngblut, and Brandon (Wendi) Elsinger; seven grandchildren; and his sisters: Audrey Van Genderen and Doris Herbst. Duster is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Duster was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Sharon (Larry) Baird; brother Leon Kuyper; siblings-in-law: Kenneth Van Genderen and Virgil Herbst; and mother-in-law: Rose Farvour.
Family would like to thank AngelsGrace Hospice for their care and compassion during Duster’s two week stay.
