Larry R. Knudtson, 75, of Columbus passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.Larry was born the son of T. Jerome and Ruby (Dorman) Knudtson on September 15, 1942 in the Township of Vienna, Dane County. He was married to Shirley Schoenwetter on May 25, 1968 at Olivet – UCC Congregational in Columbus. Larry was employed with Madison-Kipp Corp. for 41 years until his retirement. Larry enjoyed the outdoors especially camping. He also enjoyed woodworking and upholstery. Larry loved spending time with his family and friends at gatherings. He was always there to lend a helping hand. Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley of Columbus; his two daughters: Karen (Tim) Bartelt of Brooklyn, WI and Sarah (Luke) Fietz of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren: Christopher Diels, Colleen Diels, Alex Herrmann, Dakota Fietz, Kayla Kundert, and Michael Kundert; his great-granddaughter, Aubrie Rico; his siblings: Warren (Mary) Knudtson, Keith (Judy) Knudtson, Jerry (Rosemary) Knudtson, Chuck Knudtson, Joyce (John) Benisch, Wendy (Ed) Allen, and Susan Bratland; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Nicholas Knudtson-Manogue; and his siblings: David, Gerald, Dean, and Neil. A visitation will be held at the Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus.
