Laurie Schuster

Laurie A. Schuster, age 67, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

A private family graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Mayville.

Laurie was born the daughter of Marvin and Helen (nee Ondrejka) Gindt on January 22, 1957. She was a graduate of Mayville High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Marian College in Fond du Lac. She was united in marriage to Douglas Schuster on May 24, 1980, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville.

Laurie spent her career passionately helping others, dedicating herself to working with people with mental disabilities. She had a natural gift for bringing joy and laughter into the lives of those around her.

In her spare time, Laurie enjoyed reading and going for drives through the park. Laurie cherished her family and the time she spent with them, including her beloved dog Maddie and cat Dixie.

Laurie is survived by her husband, Douglas, of Fond du Lac. Her daughter, Brittany (Tyler) Tomjanovich, and grandchildren Hailey and Mason of Blue Mounds. Her daughter, Sarah Schuster (Jacob Buchner) of Horicon. She is also survived by her nephew, Nick (Jamie) Gindt, and their children Charlotte and Lincoln of Sun Prairie. She leaves behind many other relatives and countless friends who were touched by her joyous spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mark.

Laurie will be remembered for her boundless energy, her ability to make people laugh, and her unwavering love for her family. She brought light and laughter to every moment, and her memory will continue to inspire joy and warmth in the hearts of those who knew her.
