LaVerne E. Koepsell, 90, of Mayville passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Matthews of Horicon Assisted Living surrounded by her family.LaVerne was born the daughter of Bernhard and Meta (Steinhorst) Krueger on August 22, 1927 in the township of Hubbard, Dodge County, WI. She was a 1945 graduate of Horicon High School. LaVerne was married to Charles W. Koepsell on June 9, 1951 at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon with Rev. Schwertfeger officiating. She assisted her husband, Charles at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville, and was dedicated to raising her family. LaVerne was a faithful member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville where she served as a member of the Dorcas Society. She was a past member of the Mayville American Legion Auxiliary Post #69. LaVerne loved spending time with her husband, Charles and family at their beloved cottage in Eagle River. She loved the holidays, especially having her family together for Christmas Eve, baking cookies, and collecting Santas. Family was most important to her, and she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. LaVerne is survived by her children: Jane (Jerry) Lautenschlager of Oshkosh, Mark Koepsell of Mayville, Russ (Kim) Koepsell of Mayville, and Beth (Tom) Zeamer of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren: Josh (Katherine) Koepsell, Dan (Annie) Koepsell, Alex Lautenschlager, Nick Lautenschlager, Julia Zeamer, Ben Zeamer, and Heather Stockwell; her great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Patty, Lucas, Charlotte, William, and Caleb; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles in 2012; her sisters: Eileen Youngwirth and Elvira Shy; and her brothers: Elmer and Bernard Krueger.A visitation will be held at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at the church. Rev. Bruce Zagel will officiate. Interment will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Mayville.LaVerne’s family would like to thank the Matthews of Horicon staff for their excellent care and helping create a wonderful home for her. Also, a special thanks to Agnesian Hospice especially Larry Roxbury for all their care and support.Memorials may be directed to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church Living Trust.
