Leon S. Mittelstadt

Leon S. Mittelstadt, 83, of Beaver Dam passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at his home. Leon was born the son of Stanley M. and Lorraine (Noll) Mittelstadt on August 29, 1935 in Beaver Dam. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Leon served his country in the U.S. Airforce. He was employed with Metal Fab in Beaver Dam and later with Tractrite in Sun Prairie. Leon was married to Virginia Schermer on June 3, 1967 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Leon loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed wood crafts as well as watching western films and reading Louis L’Amore western novels. Leon is survived by his wife, Virginia of Beaver Dam; four children: Abraham (Kathy) Mittelstadt of Beaver Dam, Bruce (Ann) Mittelstadt of Beaver Dam, Sue Anne (John) Davies of Wapella, IL, and Virgie Dinger (special friend, Troy) of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Arline; his granddaughter, Rebecca; his brother, Harold “Hap” and his sister, Dorothy “Toots.” A memorial gathering will take place at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Michael Erwin will officiate. Inurnment will take place at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam with military honors conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146.
