Lillian Frieda was born on August 23, 1931 to Carl and Frieda (Zemp) Bachofen. On October 27, 1951, she married Gerald Ptaschinski at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership that would last for decades. Together, they raised their children in Beaver Dam, where they also built a successful business, Ptaschinski Construction. Lill was not only a devoted mother but also an active participant in her children’s lives, attending school activities and supporting their endeavors with unwavering enthusiasm. In pursuit of family togetherness, Lillian and Gerald purchased a cottage in Wautoma, where they created countless cherished memories. Eventually, they built a home there, and for over 35 years, Wautoma became a cherished backdrop for family gatherings and celebrations. She was deeply involved with St. Joseph Catholic Church, serving on the church council and contributing her time and talents to various church activities. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her church community; she volunteered for the county cupboard and Waushara Habitat for Humanity, embodying the spirit of service and compassion. In addition to her community work, Lill found joy at the Mount Morris Community Center, where she connected with friends and neighbors, sharing laughter and stories that enriched her life and the lives of those around her. As the years passed, Lillian made the decision to return to Beaver Dam to be closer to her family, a testament to her love and devotion to them. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
