Lorelei Carol Haessly, age 77, of Horicon, went home to her Lord on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at her home in Horicon surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 9 at 12 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Horicon, with the Rev. Mark Hasty officiating. A visitation will be held on May 9 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 12 p.m. at the church. A luncheon will follow the service at church.Lorelei was born the daughter of Harvey and Florence (Dornfeld) Rettschlag on October 21, 1938 in Neosho. She was first united in marriage to Walter Day on February 5, 1956 and was later married to Robert Haessly on October 11, 1985. She was employed at the Marlin Toy Company and then at ITW in Hustisford. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon and a member of the Horicon American Legion Post #157 Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed taking gaming trips and loved her dog Tia. Most important to Lorelei was her family and her grandchildren and the cherished time spent with them.Lorelei is survived by: her husband- Robert of Horicon. Her children- Debra (Ron) Beall of Horicon and Daniel (Julie) Day of Horicon. Her grandchildren- Michelle Beall, Jordan (Jessica) Day, and Kayla (Ben) Dickenson. Her sister- Shirley Collins. Her step children- Pam Verlarde, Robert (Barb) Haessley, Jr., and Margaret (Dan) Drews. Her sisters in law- Judith (Lynn) Mellenthien, Suzanne (Ken) Carter, and Gerald (Sheryl) Day of Madison.She was preceded in death by; her parents, her husband Walter, and sister Elaine Key.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church or Hillside Hospice.Special thanks to Hillside Hospice for all of their wonderful care shown to Lorelei during her illness.

We loved seeing Lorelei walk with her cute little dog. She was always so friendly and a nice addition to our neighborhood. We will miss her and pray for you.
