Louis Julius Antonioni, age 89, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Crossroads Care Center in Mayville surrounded by his loving family.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Ed Kornath presiding. A visitation for Louis will be held at church on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, graveside military honors will be conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post #69 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mayville.
Louis was born on June 15, 1936, in the Township of Herman to Thomas and Sylvia (nee Baita) Antonioni. He was a graduate of Mayville High School in 1955. After high school, Louis enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country from 1959 until 1961.
On October 12, 1963, Louis was united in marriage to Mary Jean Greiner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. He a supervisor at Maysteel Corporation in Mayville for 42 years.
Louis was a kind, gentle man who enjoyed listening to Polka music. He liked to stay busy and could often be found traveling, hunting, or fishing. Louis was a woodcarver at The Watermark in Beaver Dam. Above all, he cared deeply for his family, and spending time with them made him happy.
Louis is survived by his loving wife Mary; his children: Louis G. (Jackie Koeck) Antonioni of Burnett, Mark Antonioni of Horicon, and Paul Antonioni of Mayville; his granddaughter Larissa (Erik Wright) Antonioni of Fond du Lac; his great-grandson Oliver; siblings: Ann Marie (Louis) Mayer of Mayville and David (Robin Pettersen) Antonioni of Madison. Louis will be further missed by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Nick Antonioni and sister-in-law Ruth Antonioni.
