Lucille Ida Oathout, age 94, of Horicon went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
Funeral services for Lucille will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Brown’s Corner with Rev. Allen Behnke officiating. A visitation for Lucille will be held at church on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at St. John’s Brown’s Corner Cemetery.
Lucille was born on January 30, 1931, in the Town of Hubbard. She was the daughter of Carl and Olive (Selchert) Hoke. Lucille was baptized in her parent’s home on February 15, 1931, by Pastor Theodore Gieschen. On April 2, 1944, she was confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church by Pastor Clarence Stradtman. She was united in marriage to Arnold Oathout by Pastor O.G. Renner on June 18, 1955, at the same church.
Lucille was employed at John Deere Horicon Works for 31 years and retired in 1982. She served as a volunteer for the Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown and Horicon. Lucille was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Brown’s Corner and was a member of the choir and altar guild.
Lucille is survived by her sisters: Jewell Pagel of Iron Ridge and Carol Dummer of Horicon; and sister-in-law Mae Lange of Watertown. Lucille is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arnold in 2011; her sister Evelyn Okon in 2000; brothers-in-law: George Okon, Franklin Pagel, Duane Dummer, Del Lange, and Vilas Oathout; and sister-in-law: Lucille Oathout.
