I have great memories of the ever smiling Mabel Ludtke. My memories are far reaching as I can still see Mabel working a Marshall's store on the square, riding her bicycle "for a little exercise" My Mother used to do home visits to Grandma Springer to give her a permanent. I would join her during those visits which all are good memories. When I graduated from ETHS I started working at the Bank and then met Clara, what a hoot she was. Today I still live in the village with my husband Dave and walk our dog daily down Elm St. When passing the pristine little home I always smile.

We were sorry to hear of Mabel's passing. We lived across the street from them in E Troy until 1991 and our Gabrielle loved sitting on the front porch with Jim. Our son, Andrew, trapped chipmunks with Ryan when they visited. Mabel was such a sweet, kind and classy lady. Our memories of her are many and she always dealt with things that weren't always easy in a positive way. We always enjoyed her smile and warmth. She was one terrific lady!
