Madelene M. Gentz, age 85, formerly of Horicon, died on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau.
The visitation will be at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon on Monday, February 15, 2010 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow at the church on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jonathan Szczesny officiating. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Horicon.
The former Madelene Arneson was born on March 14, 1924 to Paul E. and Katherine (Longseth) Arneson in Barneveld, Wisconsin. She graduated from Juneau High School in 1942 and on August 24, 1946, was united in marriage with Roland Gentz. Madelene was a member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church where she was a past member of the Ladies Guild. She worked many years at Clearview and retired in 1986. Madelene enjoyed ceramics, cooking, gardening and sewing.
Survivors are her sons, Randall Gentz of Beaver Dam and Gregory Gentz of Hustisford; two daughters, Joan Tillou (Jeff Jenkins) of Fox Lake and Barb (Greg) Sell of Juneau; seven grandchildren, Michael Gentz, Miranda Gentz, Nicole (Rory) Margelofsky, Anthony (Jaime) Checki, Matthew Checki, Megan (Chad) Wachter, and Casey Sell; five great grandchildren, Joseph, Callista and Amaya Checki, and Ellie and Dane Wachter; two step great grandchildren, Jake Murphy and Samantha Margelofsky; her sister, Rosalie Farvour of Waupun; her brother-in-law, Robert Nelson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Joyce Nelson.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Madelene M. Gentz”s name to the family to be used for a memorial at Clearview Nursing and Rehab Center.
