Margaret M. Connaughty

August 30, 1917 - December 27, 2006

Margaret Connaughty, age 89, of Beaver Dam, WI died Wednesday, December 27 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam after a valiant battle with lymphoma.

Friends and family may call at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 127 W. Maple Avenue, in Beaver Dam on Saturday, December 30, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church, beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. Carlos Florez will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Margaret was born August 30, 1917 in Park Falls, Wisconsin. On March 8, 1943, she was united in marriage with Milton F. Connaughty in Marshfield, Wisconsin and moved to Beaver Dam in 1946 with her husband Milton Connaughty and son Michael. Margaret worked at Fanshaw”s Beauty Shop until it closed, and through her work and activities, made many lifelong friends in the community. Margaret was active in the Daughters of Isabella through St. Patrick”s Catholic Church, was a Beaver Belle Homemaker, and was active as a volunteer hairdresser to Hillside Hospital and Hillside Manor after she retired.

Margaret is survived by her son, Michael (Beverly) Connaughty, grandson, Christopher (Sarah) Connaughty, great-grand daughter, Madelyn Rose, all of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, a grandson Patrick (Joey) Connaughty, great-grandsons, Silas and Graham of Rio, WI, and also by her daughter, Mary Connaughty (Dan Sullivan) and grandson Aaron Paton, all of Charlotte, North Carolina, and by brothers, Leonard (Lolita) Schreiner, and Lawrence Schreiner of Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton, her loving mother, Rose Gotz, brothers Leo Schreiner and Charles Schreiner and sisters, Irene Krainz, Rose Bloom , and Loretta Mattke.
