Maria A. Castillo, 76 of Beaver Dam and formerly of Crystal City, TX, passed away on June 15, 2024 under the care of Rainbow Hospice In-Patient Center.
She was born on April 1, 1948 to Juan and Refujia Arroyo and was raised in Crystal City, TX along with her 10 siblings. Maria enjoyed family get togethers, cooking and sewing. She loved listening to music and doing things for her grandchildren. Maria’s most value of time was when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Maria was a caregiver for many years. One of Maria’s passions was cooking for her family. She was known for providing food and treats for her grandchildren’s classes. She welcomed all that came to her home and would offer a home cooked meal and plenty of left overs to take home with them. She also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and teaching her recipes.
Maria is survived by her children; Agustin (Letty) Castillo of Beaver Dam; Nancy (Jose Cisneros) Castillo of Beaver Dam; Jaime Castillo of Beaver Dam; Her 12 grandchildren; Kathy Castillo of Baytown, TX; Jaime Castillo Jr. of Carrizo Springs, TX; BreAnna (Eduardo Galvan) Castillo of Beaver Dam; Krystal (Matthew) Edwards of Beaver Dam; Tiffani (Nickolas) Pizano of Beaver Dam; MacKenzie (Greg Humphrey) Saverino of Beaver Dam; Brandon (Winter Riel) Castillo of Beaver Dam; Marc Castillo of Beaver Dam; Jared Castillo of Beaver Dam; Allison Cisneros of Beaver Dam; Cayde Riel of Beaver Dam; Jaydn Castillo of Beaver Dam; 15 great-grandchildren; She also leaves behind her sisters, Rachel Castillo of Pasadena, TX, Estella Guiterrez of Crystal City, TX; and her brothers, Carlos Arroyo of Houston, TX, Jesse Arroyo of Forest River, ND; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and special friends that cared for her; Sarah Saverino, Anna Villegas, and Sue Mallon.
Maria is proceeded in death by her parents; her son, Nieves Castillo Jr.; 2 brothers, Juan Arroyo and Luis Arroyo; 4 sisters, Manuela Hernandez, Lupe Martinez, Angela Arroyo, and Lucia Cardenas.
A memorial gathering for Maria will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. A Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Ed Cody officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is collecting donations to give to Rainbow Hospice In-Patient Center in her memory.
A special thank you to the Davita Dialysis team of Fond du Lac and all of her care providers over the last 12 years. As well as, all the caregivers from Rainbow Hospice In-Patient Center who so compassionately cared for Maria during her final days.
