Marian L. Burchardt

Marian (Lewis) Burchardt, 97, lifetime resident of Beaver Dam passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Hillside Manor Nursing Home. Marian Louise was born on October 1, 1917 the daughter of Arthur E. and Ella (Beyer) Lewis in Beaver Dam. She was married to Alex Burchardt on September 21, 1939. Marian was a 1935 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and was an employee of the Beaver Dam Unified school District from 1962 – 1979 serving as secretary to several Principals at the Junior High School. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beaver Dam, a member of the Retirees, and served in the Lay Ministry of the church. Marian is survived by her daughter, Bette (Karl) Whitrock, Montello and her son Chad (Patricia) Burchardt, Beaver Dam; two granddaughters: Dawn (Russ) Rainey and Chara (Todd) Hall; five grandsons: Shannon (Vicki) Whitrock, Ed (Sharon) Burchardt, David Burchardt, Jason (Melissa) Burchardt, and Matt (Jen) Burchardt. Marian loved and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved her 12 great grandchildren: Sarah, Amber, Michael, Rebecca, Katie, Jacob, Noah, Carley, Collin, Miles, Casey and Teagan. She also loved her five great great grandchildren: Ava, Zander, Rainey, Kaden and Rhett. She is further survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marian was preceded in death by her husband Alex on Sept. 14, 2001, her parents and three sisters: Elise, Goldie and Hilda. A funeral service for Marian will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 311 W. Mackie St., Beaver Dam with the Rev. Terry Larson and Rev. Mark Jensen officiating. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, Jan. 13th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the township of Trenton and a luncheon will follow the burial at the First Ev. Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
