Marilyn E. Bauer

Marilyn E. Bauer, age 86, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam. There will be a memorial gathering at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam for Marilyn on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Lagerstam officiating. Inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Marilyn Eileen was born on Palm Sunday, March 20, 1932, in Hot Springs SD to the late Marvin and Ella (Feske) Jackson. On June 4, 1955, she was united in marriage with Roger A. Bauer in Medford, Wisconsin. After high school, Marilyn graduated from Taylor County Normal School. She taught school for several years before stopping to raise her family. Family was the most important thing in her life. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife. She was a great cook and her beans were always requested at family events. She had a huge heart and cared for many people, family and friends, throughout her life. Marilyn loved to crochet, knit, and do needle work. Many people were the recipients of her handiwork be it slippers, afghans, or lap throws. She was the type of person who could fix anything and she even dabbled in woodworking for a while. Marilyn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Survivors include her three children, Bonnie Jean Van de Weghe of Plymouth, Gail Marie (Bruce) Ferstl of Beaver Dam, and Terry Alan (Deborah) Bauer of Burnett; five grandchildren, Rebecca (Shawn) Wroblewski of Hartford, Aaron (Adreana) Pundsack of Appleton, Craig (Holly) Ferstl of Beaver Dam, Michelle (Matt) Stephens of Beaver Dam, and Cassandra (Adam) Zimmerman of Fox Lake; 12 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Wilma Jackson of Charleston, SC; a niece and a nephew, Debra (David Petrak and Gary (Kathy) Jackson, both of Charleston, SC; neighbors, other relatives and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Marvin, Charles, and Robert Jackson. If desired, memorials may be made in Marilyn Bauer’s name to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. The family would like to thank the staff at Hillside Manor for their care and support over the past few weeks.
