Marion Gnerlich

Marion (Mueller) Gnerlich, of Iron Ridge, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital. A visitation for Marion will be held on Friday, October 12th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Larry Mose officiating. Burial will take place at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Iron Ridge. She was born on December 1,, 1927 in Iron Ridge to Herman and Elsie (Wolter) Mueller. She graduated from Mayville High School in class of 1945. Marion married Lester “Bunny” Gnerlich in 1947 at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge. Marion worked at Herman Mutual Insurance Co., Iron Ridge State Bank and retired from the Horicon State Bank in Iron Ridge. She was helpful to many people in many ways. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Matthew’s Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Iron Ridge Fireman’s Auxiliary. Marion loved cooking for people, she was always up for a walk at a park, and taking the kids to the zoo. She loved bowling, Brewer games and her card club. She bestowed special attention on her grandchildren, that were the love of her life, she was especially proud of her great-granddaughter Josephine. Marion is survived by her son; John (Julie) Gnerlich of Mayville, grandchildren; Patrick (Nikki) Gnerlich of Mayville, Stefanie (MSG Nick) Muche of North Pole, Alaska, great-granddaughter Josephine Gnerlich of Mayville, sister; Florence Glamann, sister-in-law; Millie Gnerlich. She is further survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brothers; Wilbert, Merlin and Roland Mueller.A special thank you to the Beaver Dam and UW Hospitals, Mayville EMT, Mayville Cross Roads for the past 14 years of care, and all her friends who visited her there. “She was a faithful member of St. Matthew’s and made me attend church every Sunday while growing up. Thanks Mom, it made me a better person. May you rest in the arms of Jesus. I will see you again!
