Marjorie Ann Urich, age 77, of Mayville, passed away in her home with family at her side Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Marge was born the daughter of Richard and Lena (Evans) Peterson on November 29, 1948, in Davenport, Iowa. Marge was married first to Tommy Gesling and later on to Richard Urich.
Marge worked for many years at Proctor and Gamble in Iowa City, Iowa. After moving with Richard to Norwalk Ohio, she started a painting and wallpapering business. Marge took great pride in everything she did and paid great attention to the details. She was a sports fan who loved her Brewers and Packers. When a game wasn’t on, she relaxed watching Hallmark movies and the Weather Channel. Marge liked to stay sharp doing puzzles and word searches.
Marge had a sense of adventure and stayed active. She even went zip lining just a few years ago. She would go to “Jams” to dance and listen to live music. She made many friendships there as well. She liked to go on walks and enjoyed seeing the deer and owls at Ziegler Park. It was even more special when the great grandkids were able to join. The Rocky Mountains were always a special place for her. She said being up there she felt closer to heaven.
Marge is survived by her son: Earl Gesling (Patty); daughter Lana Burens; stepdaughter: Heather Urich; grandchildren: Gaven, Jessica, Kyler, Michael, Ava, Levi (Sarah) and Jena (Miguel); great-grandchildren: Aiden, Emmett, Lilly, Aria, and Miguel Jr.. She is further survived by her siblings: Alice (Roger) Sorden, Dave (Phyllis) Peterson, and Rick (Vicki) Peterson. She will be always remembered and dearly missed by nieces, nephews, extended family, and her “three angles” Bonnie, Jeanne and Marie.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Tommy Gesling; her second husband Richard Urich; and her siblings Edward (Butch) Smith and Betty Jean Wunderlich.
