On January 16th, 2023, Mark Scott Hanni passed away.

Mark was born on May 3rd, 1968, in Beaver Dam, WI son of Harold and Delores Hanni. He was married to the love of his life Angie. Mark loved being a dad to Dylan, Spencer, Shelby, and their new puppy Kai. He enjoyed golfing and fishing with friends and family by his side. He and Angie loved traveling together as well as their weekend getaways to their home in Lake Arrowhead. Mark spent most of his career at PS Seasoning teaching and selling to his many friends in the meat industry. He was also a graduate of the UW Madison Master Meat Crafter Program and enjoyed teaching others in the industry the craft of making sausage. He was the happiest guy in the room and would always brighten your day.

Mark is survived by his wife Angela Hanni, children Shelby (Andrew) Verhasselt, Dylan Hanni, and Spencer Hanni, brother Jeff Hanni, sisters – in- laws Kate Hanni, Teri Hanni/Flasch, brother- in – law Mike (Lori) Schultz, mother-in-law Terry Birgmann, aunts Shirley Sternweiss, Doris Muche, nephews and nieces Dan Hanni, Ben (Paula) Hanni, Joe (Trish) Hanni, Jennifer (Joe) Schmitz, Mary (Marcus) DeVine, Bethany (Dana) Borgschatz, Brian (Hannah) Schultz nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by parents Harold and Delores Hanni, brothers Daniel Hanni, Ken Hanni, Dave Hanni, sister-in-law Sheryl Hanni, father-in law William and mother-in-law Kathy Schultz, father-in-law Josef Birgmann, Nephew Nicholas J. Schultz.

A visitation and celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Tuesday January 24th, 2023, from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at the Koepsell-Murry Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the family’s choice.

On behalf of everyone here at Wisconsin River Meats in Mauston please accept our condolences. Mark was my friend. We attended the Meat Master Crafter Program together and hung out for our groups and after class activities. Mark would also stop by and see us at our business just to say hello. Mark and I "understood" each other and I would trust, listen and follow his advice and suggestions. He also would visit us at our selling booth many years at the Warrens Cranberry Festival.
We were shocked and saddened to hear of his passing and I am finding it hard to believe that he isn't just a funny and friendly phone call, email or visit away. I am very sorry.

Angie, Mark is my first real friend to pass away way too early in life. I real don't know what to say other than my prayers are with you and your family. Mark was the person that brought me to P S Seasoning and became a friend and his knowledge of spices has done wonderful thing in my business, what a loss. Angie and family, Frank and I were so very sorry to learn of Mark’s passing. We could feel the love you two had when we met at Shelby’s wedding and we were happy for you both! Please know we are praying for strength and peace.

Angela, I’m so sorry to hear the news of Marks passing.

I wish I had gotten to know him better, he seemed like a great guy from the few times we spoke. We’ve been neighbors for four years but the time flies by so fast and we never had the opportunity to have a good conversation beyond quick hello’s or goodbyes when leaving or returning from work.

I am so sorry to hear about Mark. I called him Mr. Hanni. He was the nicest guy ever. One memory I have was during Shelby's wedding during the speech and their father-daughter dance. It was so sweet. I will miss him and sending prayers to the family. RIP. - Maria P
