Marlene A. McCormick

Marlene McCormick, age 90, of Randolph, passed away peacefully at Randolph Health Services on August 6, 2026.

A visitation for Marlene will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 305 W. Green St., Fox Lake.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Noon with Father Thomas Naidu officiating. Burial will be at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in Randoph following the funeral dinner at the church.

Marlene was born on July 4, 1936 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, daughter of August and Lena (Elsen) Lunzmann. She was the youngest of four children. Her family moved to Markesan, Wisconsin when she was young. Marlene and her sister, Darlene, helped Lena with a restaurant business. The customers thought it was so cute that they were so young and helping clear tables.

Marlene married Howard Offerman on March 16, 1953 and moved to Bethany, Missouri for their Chiropractic business, where she helped with the bookkeeping. Unfortunately, Howard passed away too young from cancer at the age of 32. They had one surviving son.

Marlene married John McCormick a few years later, on March 12, 1966 and joined him on the McCormick Family Farm where they started their lives together raising their children: Larry, Doreen, Sandra and Denise. Marlene helped out on the farm and did most of the bookkeeping.

Marlene loved her family and especially loved decorating for and celebrating Christmastime when everyone was together. Family games together were very much enjoyed with lots of laughter. She treasured the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren as the family grew.

She also enjoyed bowling. She and John were on a friendly league together for years. She actually appeared on television for a couple state bowling tournaments. She was a faithful member of the Fox Lake Annunciation Catholic Church.

Marlene is survived by her four children: Larry (Judy) Offerman, Doreen (Dan) DeYoung, Sandra (Everardo Chavez) McCormick and Denise McCormick. Grandchildren: Holly (Dave) Lotharius, Auri Offerman, Wesley (Leslie) DeYoung, Connor (Chante’) DeYoung, Ashley Chavez, James (Cassandra) Raymond, Dylan Doepke, Kennedy Bowes, Tanner Coppock and Samantha Coppock. Great grandchildren: Emma Raymond, Sadie DeYoung and Josie DeYoung.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Howard Offerman and John McCormick. She also lost two sons and two daughters in infancy, as well as, her three siblings: Ray Lunzmann, LeRoy Lunzmann and Darlene Dragan.

Memorials donations in Marlene’s name may be direct to Annunciation Catholic Church or to the Randolph Health Center.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Randolph Health Services for the wonderful care Marlene received during her stay. They also wish to thank Agrace Hospice for their compassionate support and comfort during her final days.
