Marvel M. Tolsma, age 91, of Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Charleston House Memory Care in Beaver Dam.
A memorial gathering will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. John Owusu officiating. Inurnment will follow at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery, in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Marvel Mary was born on January 27, 1933 in Columbus, Wisconsin to Roy and Gladys (Fromholz) Linck. She was a 1951 graduate of Randolph High School. On December 26, 1951, she was united in marriage with Gerald Tolsma at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Randolph. Marvel was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake for many years. She worked tirelessly at Shopko in Beaver Dam for over 25 years and retired as the Senior Sales Representative. Marvel and her husband made their home in Fox Lake filled with happy memories for over 56 years. She was active in the Fox Lake community, serving as the past president of the Fox Lake American Legion Auxiliary, Post #521, which she was a member of for over 70 years, and the past president of the Fox Lake PTA. Marvel and Gerald spent many winters in Arizona and enjoyed camping throughout Wisconsin, as well as traveling throughout the United States, until his passing in 2017.
Marvel is survived by her daughter, Sherri Peaslee of Kenosha; son, Ron (Lori) Tolsma of Inver Grove Heights, MN; grandchildren, Cody (Cortney) Peaslee, Matthew (Shannon) Tolsma and Nicholas Tolsma (Sandra Conde); three great grandchildren, Abigail, Breena and Theodore; brother, Kenneth (Caryll) Linck of Janesville; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Marion Tolsma of Waupun and Merlin and Shirley Tolsma of Fox Lake; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and great grandson, Ian James.
