I am thinking of Marvin so much as it is Bible Sunday at Trinity Church in Beaver Dam today. Rev. Schilling gave me my 1st bible in 1962. Marvin has continued to be an important Role Model in my life. I am so thankful for his inspirational influence on me.
Condolences to all of the Schilling family. What a full life he lived, dedicated to God, family and friends. We are all blessed to have known him. He was an inspiration to everyone and will never be forgotten. I hope to attend the memorial service to express my sympathy in person and join in the celebration of Marvin's incredible life.
Dear Schilling family,
We would like to extend our sympathy and prayers to everyone in Rev. Schilling's family on his recent passing. Our family ( Jack and Carol Forster(both deceased) and their children ( Kathy,Jackie, Marilyn,Susan and Michael) ) remembers Rev. Schilling ,his wife Electa and their sons from his appointment to the First United Methodist Church in Appleton. Rev. Schilling officiated at the funeral service for Carol's grandmother, Minnie Smith, in 1965. We attended and were quite involved in various church activities every week and the Schillings were such an inspirational part of our church.
We know you will cherish the difference he made in so many lives throughout his whole life--in the ministry and beyond--as well as in your lives. He will rejoice at being together again with his loved ones in his new home and will continue to be with you always.
Dr. John Schilling & family: It was such a pleasure meeting and caring for your father. His friendly spirit was freely and joyfully shared. May you also experience the peace and assurance of eternity as he did. Sincerely,
Kelli George, RN
Rev. Schilling married my parents, Ruth and Jim Schaub of Oconto Falls. Marvin and my dad were good friends from the Masonic Lodge. I remember our family came for a Sunday visit when he was appointed to the church in Appleton. Certainly a life well-lived. Rev. Kenneth L. Schaub (ELCA)
