Mary A. Bowen

September 13, 1918 - April 6, 2015

Mary A. (Ertl) Bowen, age 96, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side, on Monday, April 6th, 2015, at Hillside Manor, Beaver Dam, where she was a resident for two years. A private memorial service is being held.She was born the daughter of Anton and Julianna (Ingelhofer) Magyar on Sept. 13, 1918. Mary was united in marriage to Albert J. Ertl on May 6, 1939 and later married James S. Bowen.Mary’s devoted love for her family was important. Her fun loving wit put a smile on everyone who knew her. She enjoyed the football season every year, especially to cheer on the Packers.Mary is survived by her children, Angie (Ron) Dobbert of Mayville; Leone (Skip) Dobbert, Surprise, AZ.; Curt (Cheryl Barna) Bowen, Dalton and Tracy (Lori Papke) Bowen, Tomahawk; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Ertl, Sun City, AZ; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and her sister, Julia Zemanovic. In addition to her parents, and husband Albert, Mary was preceded in death by her sons Hank and Dennis Ertl; granddaughter, Janet Ertl; sister, Magdelene Hagey; and brothers, Tony and Carl Magyar. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Hillside Manor. The compassionate and loving care she received is beyond words.

Please accept our sincere sympathy on Mary's passing. We found that she was a lovely person, even in knowing her only the short time that she shared a room with Florence. We remember one time when we were visiting Florence with the great-grandchildren, and they stopped to say hello to Mary. She shared a treat with them from her candy. Drew and Leah still mention to us how they liked that nice lady that lived in the bed next to great-grandma! She was a friendly and kind person. Your family was so lucky to have her in your lives. So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. You were so devoted to her & helpful while Mary was living at Clark Garden Apartments. May God fill your empty spot with His peace & love, just you always showed to your mother.

We are so sorry for your loss, our Mother Florence Tratar was her roomate at the Manor and she really enjoyed having her there. She will be missed~!! Also really enjoyed getting to know Angie and meeting the rest of the family while they stood vigil - Wonderful folks you are and that is a testament to what a beautiful person Mary was. I will miss Mary very much. She was always the one to put a smile on my face! With her sense of humor I never knew what I was in for! I will also miss visiting with her family I have grown very close to some of them as well My thoughts and prayers are with you all! GOD BLESS YOU
