I will remember Maxine when she worked at the Elementary School in Horicon. Always so friendly and a most encouraging person. I'm certain that her family will miss her. My sympathy to all of you.

OMGosh! I just learned about Maxine Thiede having passed on. She was my lovely neighbor at Burnett during 1950s. I remember her as a kind, caring person, with a wonderful smile. I departed Burnett at age 9 with my family but always remember Maxine and her family, Janice, Glenn and Cheryl.

Glenn Thiede left a message on April 16, 2019:

You were the best Mom, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother one could ever ask for! As children, we can't comprehend or fully realize the meaning of a Mother's love, how tender and how wise. Years go by before we can see through older eyes and wiser hearts a Mom's love and loyalty. It is these and many other things we'll hold so near and dear. Your kindness, smiles, laughs, and humility will carry us forward as an example of the type of life you lived. You set the perfect example for us as how one should conduct and live their life! Your steadfast love we will always keep near and in our hearts! When Jesus returns, he most certainly will call your name as one of his chosen ones!

Maxine was always "Mrs. Thiede" to me during the years that I taught at the Burnett School in the late sixties. I was a very young, inexperienced teacher at the time and her help around that old school was so valuable to me. Not only did she take such good care of the physical plant that was our school, the tips that she gave me about those wonderful Burnett kids helped me to understand how to reach out to them whenever problems might arise. Every day when I arrived at school, Mrs. Thiede would give me an encouraging "good morning" with a big smile on her face. Burnett has lost one of the cornerstones of its close-knit community; Mrs. Thiede will be missed by all who knew her.
