I had known Sam ever since I was a little kid. He worked with my mom and dad at Metalfab for many years. My paper route was in that area and I would stop in daily to see my dad, Big Sam, Gary Oelke, & more that right now I cannot remember. I remember them hanging out at Morry's or Wodill's after work. Or the Rock River Tap when they both worked in Mayville after Metalfab closed up. When I was home on leave from the military, I'd meet them there and have a few with them. Fond memories for sure. Sam was a gentle giant who loved to laugh.
Deepest condolences to the rest of his family. He will surely be missed.
I have great memories of Sam, helping us saw fire wood, eating cheese, deer hunting and setting on the couch with him and watching the Packers. I was a kid in those days and Sam was a great comfort to me and always fun to be around. I will remember him always and glad to have been a cousin. Sam I will miss you, selah.
I worked with Sam in the toolroom at Metalcraft. Sam was a great guy, I enjoyed his sliced winter radishes. We had some good times. Thanks Sam
So sorry. I have many memories of "Sam" coming up to our farm to visit when we were growing up. He came many years for the deer hunting season. RIP "Sam"
Dear Todd and Russ, So Sorry to hear of Sam's passing. Please know that you and your families are in my prayers. RIP Sam

Sam and Nancy were my Godparents and they were so good to me! Every year until I was 18 they stopped by on my Birthday with a card. They were great friends with my parents. The last time I saw them was at my Wedding in 2001. I took a moment to thank them for everything, and I sure am glad that I was able to do that! Thank you Sam and Nancy for all that you did for me!
