Merlin R. Stutz, 82, of Juneau passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Juneau with the Rev. Paul Hirsch officiating. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Township of Trenton, WI.
Merlin was born the son of Theodore and Edna P. (Schmeling) Stutz on February 8, 1930 on his family’s farm in the Township of Oak Grove, WI. He was a graduate of Juneau High School. Merlin was married to Dorothy J. Watson on June 10, 1950 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Beaver Dam. Merlin farmed on his family’s farm for over 20 years. He also owned and operated Country Fresh Eggs, a wholesaler of mushrooms and eggs, for over 40 years.
Merlin was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Juneau where he served on the church counsel. He served three terms on the Dodgeland School Board. Merlin loved animals and enjoyed raising steers and chickens. He will be missed.
Merlin is survived by his wife Dorothy of Juneau; his children: Earl (Greta) Stutz of Beaver Dam, Linda Ganz of Beaver Dam, Randy Stutz of Juneau, and Julie (Lynn Schwoch) Stutz of Juneau; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Ardelle Nebel and Romona Schroeder, and two brothers in infancy.
