Michael D. Moede

Michael David Moede, age 59, of Lomira, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 9, 2026 while doing what he loved most, snowmobiling. Mike passed at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau and was surrounded by his loving family.

A Memorial Service for Mike will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Dr. Mark G. Cutler officiating. A visitation for Mike will take place at church on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Following the service, stories and memories will be shared at the Celebration of Life gathering held at The Meating Place at the Mayville Golf Course from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Mike was born the son of Jerry Moede and Roxanne Schraufnagel (nee Thrun) on November 22, 1966, in Beaver Dam. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1985. Mike was dedicated to his work at Quad Graphics in Lomira where he worked for 29 years. He worked at EAM Mosco for 11 years before he recently retired.

Mike took great pleasure in life’s everyday moments, especially snowmobiling and spending time up north with his family and friends. He was an avid snowmobiler and was a Member of the Rock River Snowmobile Club. Mike was fond of pull tabs, scratch offs, and occasional trips to the casino. Yearly family vacations up north to Pitlik’s were something he looked forward to, and many lasting memories were made on those trips.

To know Mike meant that you would always be looked out for. He often gave more than he had and was always ready to lend a hand. No man was ever left behind and Mike made sure of that. Whether it was staying behind to help fix a snowmobile or his quiet gesture of always riding last in line, Mike was a constant presence.

Even in his passing, Mike gave selflessly to others through the gift of organ donation- a final act of generosity that reflected how he lived his life. His decision offered hope and healing to those in need, creating a legacy that will continue through the lives he touched. He will be remembered not only for his kindness and willingness to help others, but for this profound and compassionate gift.

Mike is survived by his soulmate Brenda Ehlers; his loving son Eric Moede; his loving parents Jerry and Diane Moede; Brenda’s mother Christine Wendler; his step-children: Paul Ehlers (Jason), Stephanie (Brian) Eiche, and Jess Ehlers (Pete); his brother Corey (Kelly) Moede; his sisters: Renae Mueller (fiancé Brian), Kim Moede (Mike), and Sue Margelofsky (Gary); Brenda’s brother Christopher (Crystal) Wendler; his grandchildren: Emma, Brian, and Waylon; nieces and nephews: Brandon (Sheanna), Max, Alliee, Kendra, Kaylin, McKenna, Alivia, Colton & Maliah, Alec, Noah & Logan; his great-nieces and nephews: Rylynn, Sawyer, Eli & Eda. Mike is further survived and deeply missed by other dear relatives and friends.

Mike is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Roxanne and Pete Schraufnagel.

Mike’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Langlade County Sheriffs Dept and Antigo Fire and Rescue Teams for their rapid response and kindness. To the ICU staff, especially Max and Savannah at Aspirus Wausau Hospital- your kindness, generosity, and compassion to Mike and his family will never be forgotten. To the Organ Donation Team- your sincere guidance and compassion navigating this process will always be appreciated.

Mike now rides where the snow never melts and the trails never end. May he find peace riding the quiet winter trails of Heaven.
